So what should you do to bypass the cravings for snacking? If you’re at work and have to walk by the vending machine, don’t get sucked in and stop to grab a snack. Be prepared for the mid-morning or afternoon snack attack. Bring healthy snacks in from home, like carrot sticks, fresh fruit or dried fruit snacks. Now, I know, not everyone is into eating vegetables, but you need to find the healthy snack that is right for you. If you do have a vending machine in your office, ask your office manager to check into getting some healthy snacks as some options from the machine.
I read an interesting article, Machine Cuisine, from Self.com that gives advice on trying to “select snacks with less than 2 grams of saturated fat per serving and no trans fats, such as whole-grain pretzels or crackers, low-calorie granola bars or single servings of nuts or seeds.” I encourage you to check out the rest of this article from Self.com.
So, what do you do when the mid-morning or afternoon snack attacks come? Do you run to the vending machines? Or have you come prepared to work and brought your own healthy snacks. Of course, eating unhealthy snacks every now and then is not the end of the world; however, keep in mind that finding a balance is the best way to life your life. We’d love to hear from you.
